Time Traveler

Dear Time Traveler,

Hello my name is Aminah and I have noticed you in our kingdom.You seem to be very unaccustomed to the way of the middle ages.You see, your ways are simply outrageously weird and unacceptable.Your ways are highly punishable in my kingdom. You stand out very much ,like a serf walking around a castle nonchalantly.I have lots of advice for you Mr.Time Traveler.Firstly you need to get rid of all those inappropriate skimpy clothes you have been wearing and find yourself proper clothing according social ranking:
  • Serf-woolen knickers sometimes accented with a cotton shirt or a tunic which is worn with bare leg or tights.
  • Knights-in battle wear gambesons under heavy uncomfortable armor.when not in battle wear a finely woven shirt and pants
  • Squire-linen shirt and wool pants
Secondly follow all laws;

DON'T DO THIS

  1. commit adultery which is punishable by public humiliation fine and death.
  2. stealing is punishable by imprisonment and loss of hand
  3. murder is punishable by beheading,hanging and etc..
  4. trespassing is punishable by fine and imprisonment

(punishments may vary)

DO THIS

  1. As a knight you must learn and practice chivalry and remember to pay taxes to upper lords
  2. Peasants must give their products form farming to their lords and pay taxes or rent

Lastly I hope you have a wonderful time in the middle ages!To make it fun try being an apprentice for different guilds, try some of our food,go to troubadour and be social so you wont feel like a outcast.

Sincerely Your advisor, Aminah S.

p.s. If you have any questions or concerns don't be shy just send it to the address you got this letter from!
